Position Overview
The Swimming Pool Cleaning Technician at Platinum Pool Service is responsible for providing top-quality pool cleaning and basic maintenance services for residential and commercial clients. This role involves ensuring that swimming pools are clean, safe, and ready for use by performing routine cleaning tasks, checking water chemistry, and identifying potential issues. A Cleaning Technician is detail-oriented, physically fit, and enjoys working outdoors while providing excellent customer service.
Core Responsibilities
- Pool Cleaning and Maintenance
- Perform routine cleaning tasks, including vacuuming, brushing walls and tiles, and skimming debris from the water surface.
- Empty skimmer and pump baskets to ensure proper circulation.
- Inspect and clean pool filters as needed.
- Water Chemistry
- Test pool water for proper chemical balance using provided testing kits.
- Adjust chemical levels as needed to maintain safety and cleanliness standards.
- Record water chemistry readings and actions taken during each service visit.
- Inspections and Reporting
- Conduct visual inspections of pool equipment (e.g., pumps, heaters, filters) for signs of wear or damage.
- Identify and report any issues to the Cleaning Manager or Maintenance Team for further action.
- Document all cleaning tasks performed including photos to the service software and update cleaning manager and/or customer as necessary.
- Customer Service
- Interact professionally with clients, addressing questions or concerns about their pools.
- Educate customers on basic pool care and answer inquiries about the cleaning process.
- Ensure customers are satisfied with services provided before leaving the job site.
- Safety and Compliance
- Follow all safety protocols when handling chemicals and equipment.
- Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations related to pool maintenance and cleaning.
- Ensure all tasks are performed with safety as the top priority.
- Equipment and Supply Management
- Use company-provided tools and equipment responsibly and maintain them in good condition.
- Keep the work vehicle organized, clean and stocked with necessary chemicals and supplies.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or supply needs to the Cleaning Manager.
Key Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in swimming pool cleaning or a similar role is preferred but not required.
- Willingness to complete company-provided training and certifications.
Skills and Competencies
- Basic understanding of swimming pool cleaning techniques and water chemistry (training provided).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good physical stamina for outdoor work and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
